Tracy Brunston
A Kansas City native who has lived on both sides of the state lines, Tracy Brunston is a positive contributing member of the community. Tracy has a passion for helping children and has spent many years volunteering her time as a community organizer, non-profit executive level manager and a child advocate. She has been a Court Appointed Special Advocate for seven years and knows that her commitment to being a CASA is one she will need to fulfill for the rest of her life.
Being a parent, a sibling, a God-Mother and aunt has allowed her many opportunities to teach, lead and guide children for more than 20yrs. Tracy is an entrepreneur, business leader and confessed wanna-be computer nerd. She has worked in public and private sectors as a consultant and has worked in the IT/IS fields of various industries for over 15yrs. Tracy possesses very strong communication skills and believes that her community can be a great place to live when we its citizens become involved to provide solutions to the problems that plague society.
Tracy strongly believes that effective and positive changes can happen when we each care enough to make a difference.
Dan Hubbard
Dan
Hubbard is originally from Boulder, Co. and work brought him to Kansas
City in 1988. Dan was on the ten year plan at college and eventually
ended up with a BS in Accounting. Since Dan enjoys school so much he is
working on his Master’s in Business. Dan works in management at a
Fortune 500 company during the day. On the side Dan is dabbling in the
real estate market, and internet sales. At church Dan has a calling as
the Ward Financial clerk.
For
relaxation Dan enjoys reading, sports, and watching TV (may not be in
that order). Dan especially likes spending time with his family and has
four children and two grandkids (soon to be three). Dan has worked with
various not for profit organizations in the past.
Kana Lydick
Kana was born and raised in Topeka , Kansas , where she graduated from Washburn University earning a double major in finance and management. She continued on at Washburn University and attended the School of Law . Kana relocated to Kansas City in early 2009 to be an attorney for Monsees, Miller, Mayer, Presley & Amick. She spends her days in a courtroom representing injured individuals seeking justice for the wrongs that have been committed against them. In her spare time Kana is a mother to a beautiful chihuahua, and enjoys time with friends and family.
Kana finds it important to help those who may not be able to help themselves. She has been a CASA helping abused and neglected children, and a foster parent for animals needing adopted from shelters. Kana lives by the belief that if people work together they can make a change.
Kelly Pedotto
Kelly
was born in Cañon City, CO where she lived with her family until she
was 10 years old. It was there that she first appeared on stage (as a
very small radish in very small production of the story of Rupunzel) and
realized her love for the performing arts. She moved to Overland Park,
KS in 1987 with her family where she spent her junior high and high
school years delving even further into the performing arts.
Kelly
graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre with an emphasis in
Performance from Northwest Missouri State University. Working both as
an actress and behind the scenes, some of Kelly’s favorite roles include
“Chick” in Crimes of the Heart, and “Antigone” and the “Messenger” in
Jean Anouilh’s Antigone (in two separate productions).
Kelly
and Charlotte met while working as Interactors at Science City and in
stage shows at Union Station and have continued to collaborate on
projects both professionally and personally ever since. Having lived in
Los Angeles for nearly five years, Kelly is proud to call Kansas City
home.
Kelly
regularly volunteers at the Kansas City Rescue Mission along with her
family. The Pedotto family is proud to do their part and enjoy helping
in the preparation and serving of meals at the KCRM. The KCRM is in
their own words “A Christ-centered community offering freedom and hope
to the poor and homeless, empowering them to reach their full
potential”. Seeing this inspires Kelly to continue to volunteer there
and anywhere else she feels her work will have a positive impact on the
world.
“Never
doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change
the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”. -- Margaret
Mead
